News Peg after meeting with Jane
I met with Jane yesterday and got some good ideas about the direction of my story. I am going to try and talk about the conflicts our soldiers face, mainly marines when they are preparing to be deployed. There is a side that people rarely think about when soldiers get deployed. They have to do a lot of extra training for the mission which means they get even less contact with their family. I am having trouble trying to get contact with my friend because our schedules have been conflicting. The best time for us to talk would be at night but that is the only time he can really talk to his family and fiancé. We have planned to do the more formal interview tomorrow during the day but I still am able to send texts periodically so there will definitely be more contact and information to come.

The direction you are going with the aspect of the service that not very many people recognize. When you said this, I though "well I did not even know about that" and I have a few friends in the service too. Good work
ReplyDeleteGetting a hold of your source is sometimes the most difficult part of journalism! Good luck, Eric.
ReplyDeleteI agree, getting your sources to cooperate can sometimes be very stressful. They are often busy and it usually turns out that when they have free time, it won't work with your schedule.
